Skin Needling, also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy is one of the most effective dermal therapies for optimising skin regeneration. It is a minimally invasive treatment.

How does Skin Needling work?

Skin Needling uses micro needles on a medical pen that is moved over the skin to create tiny, evenly-spaced punctures on the skin. These micro-punctures go through the skin with minimal damage to the upper epidermal layer, but creates a microscopic, generally painless injury to the deeper dermal layer. The minor injury and bleeding triggers a “wound-healing” response in the skin. This results in increased collagen and elastin production.

How long does the Skin Needling treatment take?

Treatment time can range between 30-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

What is the recovery time for Skin Needling?

There is minimal down time following Skin Needling treatment. Post treatment, you can expect some redness and your skin may feel slightly tight or sensitive. This will typically subside within 24 hours.

After approximately 3-5 days post treatment, you may experience some mild shedding of the skin. This is a completely normal response which may last anywhere between 2-3 days. Most people see an immediate result 7 days post treatment, however optimal results are achieved up to 3 months post treatment.

How often should I get Skin Needling treatments?

For optimal results, 4-6 treatments are recommended at 4 week intervals, this depends on your individual treatment plan and your treatment goals. Each person will vary slightly.
